You know, I was skeptic about Twilight at first, but after being pushed by a friend I read it....and I loved it. The people who hate Twilight are mostly the ones who hate how its so different from traditional vampire lore. However, because it was different is why I fell in love with it.

Vampire stories tend to be sooo depressing about individuals who condemn themselves to hell. Who, although are immortal, tend to live a lonely life...blah blah blah, you know the Gothic formula. It's not a bad formula. I mean I love Interview with a Vampire and I love Underworld. Sometimes though it gets tiring when its all the same.

Twilight was so different for everything else. I can also admit that I'm a hopeless romantic and all that mushy gushiness that people also seem to hate about it, also drew me to it. I read New Moon an Eclipse and I thought they were also good.

However, its funny how something you love can be wiped clean from one real bad thing. Breaking Dawn was aweful. I don't really feel like ranting why the book was so bad. It just was. Stephenie Meyer doesn't even care that half her fans think its so bad. I can respect a writer standing up for their work but if they can do better and HAVE done better in the past, then something is wrong.

After sometime for the book's wound to heal, the movie can out, and it was also bad. I tried to get my expectations to a middle ground, but they were evaporated away by the sheer dryness of the film. However, often movies based on books are far less so no big deal.

AND YET, I believe that like 3 times the charm, 3 times I want to face palm means something has gone off the deep end and will never come back. Did Harry Potter even have something THIS STUPID--->[link]

I'm washing my hands of the series. The first book will always be dear to me despite how tainted it is from everything else. I won't make an effort to see the other movies because I know they'll just lead up to more disappointment. It's time to move on and get hook on another fanbase wagon.
